High Resolution Ground Investigation with a Lighter Footprint
Non-intrusive passive seismic surveys providing subsurface insight, without drilling, noise or disruption.
Our Research Mission
We are a research group at Newcastle University, applying passive seismic techniques through large nodal seismic arrays. Our goal is to transform how subsurface data is collected in complex or sensitive environments, using methods that minimise disruption and maximise efficiency.
Industry Pain Points
Traditional ground investigation methods such as boreholes and CPT can be too invasive, slow, or unsuitable in urban, protected or ecologically sensitive areas.
This can cause:
-
Delays to project timelines
-
Challenges with permitting and site access
-
Limited data coverage and resolution
These constraints can undermine early design decisions, increase risks, and raise costs.
High Resolution Subsurface Insight for Complex Sites
Passive seismic surveys using nodal arrays to map underground layers – clean, quiet, and ideal for urban or sensitive environments.
How We Help
We use passive seismic and ambient noise tomography, supported by dense nodal sensor arrays, to deliver detailed subsurface models.

Minimal disruption
No drilling or heavy equipment required

Suitable for sensitive sites
Urban, protected and hard-to-reach areas

Better decisions earlier
Reliable insight at early stages
